A note on the construction
About this place.
A small, open collection of work. Built to let the projects keep their own character.
Type and materials
Newsreader and DM Sans, warm paper tones, fine rules, and a small green signal. The fonts are served locally. The site is static HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript. No account or tracking analytics are needed to explore it. Videos load from their original YouTube or Vimeo players as you approach them. Panoramas load from 360Cities. The recorded walk map loads from Komoot; map data is credited to OpenStreetMap. The Munich–Venice map uses Natural Earth data. Past-trip route traces are drawn from my Strava recordings; photographs are my own.
Images and credits
Portraits supplied by JJ Cohoon. Project imagery comes from the corresponding work. Patternation is artwork by Reko Rennie at UVA’s Kluge-Ruhé Aboriginal Art Collection; film and immersive documentation by Squid and Beard. Making Good is a Squid and Beard documentary series. Nasty is a collaborative live event; Thomas Dean organized the dance party, with JJ contributing visuals and participatory media.
The accounting interface shows sample records. IoT Woodstove builds on Homebridge, NorthernMan54’s homebridge-dht work, and Adafruit’s MAX31855 examples.
Explore at your pace
